The World Heritage Photographic Biennial is a project which takes place between the UNESCO sites of Italy and China, the two countries that hold the largest number of sites in the world, with the aim of building virtuous connections and to establish exchanges of sustainable tourism practices, international exchanges of art and culture and the enhancement of world heritage sites.
The first edition of the Biennial conceived in collaboration with the municipality of Zhangjiajie opens with a major exhibition featuring 5 talented Italian photographers: Luigi Spina, Mario Ferrara, Carlos Solito, Marco Introini and Luca Capuano, who interpret the theme “Identity and Time” by selecting the world heritage sites most suited to their specific proposal.
Italy’s participation as a special guest is the starting point of the World Heritage Biennial project, which aims to organise events alternating between Italy and China.
